Springtime Toffee Talk

We know the winter weather has the potential to influence our moods and wardrobes, but what is its effect on our palates? I know I crave richer, warmer foods in the winter, especially comfort foods like mashed potatoes and Mac ‘n’ Cheese. But I’ve found that in the last few weeks I’ve started looking forward to spring in my meal planning. Do you find yourself fixing simple salads and fresh fruits in lieu of heartier fare after Daylight Savings Time or do you wait until the warmth of Summer hits? If you’re feeling like some Summertime foods in anticipation of warmer months to come, you might like Allison’s Grilled Tempeh Reubens and Tuna(less) Salad Sandwiches from her column “Veganize It!” in VegNews Magazine. What’s your favorite springtime meal?

If you’re also seeking a sweet snack in sync with the springtime season, nothing tops our Vegan Toffee. The buttery, breakable treat makes for the perfect post-lunch or after-dinner bite when you’re craving something decadent but not too heavy.
Our toffee is available in two luscious flavors: Classic Almond Toffee, flecked with toasted organic almonds, and Chocolate Almond Toffee, crested with a layer of dark chocolate.

Confection Affection: Vegan Toffee and Peanut Brittle

Clients often ask what our most popular product is. We have so many great products for such a wide range of tastes that this question is always hard to answer. However, there are some products that do stand out as worthy of special praise. Crunchy and crispy, sweet and salty, our vegan toffee and peanut brittle are two of our best-selling confections. Whether you prefer almonds or peanuts, classic, chocolate covered or spiced, these treats are sure to win your heart are first bite. With so many varieties to choose from, sold individually or in sets, our vegan toffee and peanut brittle make excellent gifts, and are especially tolerant of being shipped in the summer heat. Our classic toffee, as well as our classic and spiced peanut brittle, won’t melt or get stale even when shipped over weekends.
As you can probably tell, we’re having quite a love affair with these scrumptious confections and we bet, when you try them, you will too!

Tips for Shipping in the Summer Heat

Ordering perishable items in the summer can be a bit of a pain. You either have to order chill packs and faster shipping, which means more money, or you risk receiving melted and/or spoiled products. However, you can minimize this hassle for yourself by ordering products that are less perishable and more hearty when it comes to heat exposure. Our Classic and Spiced Peanut Brittle, Classic Almond Toffee, and individually-wrapped Caramels, for example, will ship well without being adversely effected by the summer heat. Our fresh-baked cookies and brownies, are actually surprisingly good at enduring high temperatures as well. Sealed in their plastic bags they won’t go stale or spoil even with our slowest shipping method (which is only 3-4 days). Ordering flavors without chocolate chips also makes your life easier, although the chips and the cookies are no worse for some melted chocolate, just perhaps a bit messier. Coffee, Tea and Drinking Chocolate are other obvious choices for summer shipping, although you may need to remind your recipient that these drinks are as delicious served iced as they are hot.

For heat-friendly gift combos, look no further than our Classic Vanilla Lover’s and Spice Lover’s Gift Sets which include Toffee, Caramels and Peanut Brittle, or our Cookie, Brownie, and Beverage Samplers.

If you do decide to order a more perishable item, especially one containing chocolate, we strongly encourage you to include the recommended chill pack in your order as well as choosing FedEx 2-day air shipping, as our chill packs only remain cold for 2 days.

PS. For those of you wondering about your monthly club orders, today is a shipping holiday, so we will be shipping all the monthly clubs tomorrow, for delivery later in the week. :)
