Dad of the Day Giveaway Winner!
Congratulations to Carrie, the winner of our Dad of the Day Giveaway! She has won a $30 gift certificate to give to a special Dad of her choice. Although her answer was chosen randomly, we really liked what she had to say:
My father is no longer with us, so on Father’s Day I like to celebrate all the other awesome Dads in my life! My husband will surely get spoiled with breakfast in bed, lunch, dinner and dessert! He also gets to choose whatever activity we will do as a family for that day!

For those of you just realizing that Father’s Day is this weekend, don’t panic! From my experience, all Dads like a sweet treat and our definitive Father’s Day selection includes delicacies for every taste. From classics like peanut brittle and pecan brownies to more adventurous edibles including salted or chipotle caramels and spiced brittle, we’ve got the perfect sweet something for that special man.

Looking for a larger gift, something he’ll be able to share? A Monthly Club will deliver a bountiful selection of premium cookies, brownies, or fudge each month for as many months as you specify. Every month’s delivery will remind that special father that you’re thinking of him.
Order this week before Wednesday to guarantee on-time delivery. Orders placed later in the week will require faster shipping to arrive on time for Sunday. If you do happen to be a little late ordering, our Gift Certificates are delivered instantly and there’s no shipping fees. Plus, they let him decide exactly what he wants for his dessert.
Dads Like Treats Too!
Well, I know we celebrated Moms just a few weeks ago, but now let’s take some time to celebrate Dads too. Father’s Day is coming up in just a few weeks on Sunday, June 19th!
The end of school and the start of summer also happen around this same date for most people, so it can be a busy time for everyone and easy to leave Dad’s gift to the last minute or end up buying him a silly apron or another tie because they’re easy. Don’t let that happen to you! Dads deserve their day of recognition, and in our extensive research we’ve found that, believe it or not, Dads like treats too!

Using this valuable information, we’ve compiled a list of unique and delicious Father’s Day gift ideas for Dads of all tastes including vegan brownies, salted and spiced peanut brittle, and gourmet coffee gift baskets. We even include a handy-dandy delayed delivery date option as part of our checkout process so you can order now and have your gifts delivered right on time for Father’s Day. Go ahead, get some sweet vegan treats for all the great Dads in your life. They’ll thank you for it.

I’m sure by now you’ve heard of the horrible acts of animal cruelty that were uncovered by footage taken at the Conklin dairy farm in Ohio. The news about the Mercy for Animals undercover video has been all over the Internet the last two weeks. Check this link to learn about what is being done to address the issue.
Allison posted this comment about the video:
Why am I vegan? For me it’s not a choice. I know too much and refuse to contribute to the suffering of another being. The depth of suffering by a dairy cow is unparalleled. There is no dairy without a calf; cows are artificially impregnated and their babies are ripped away from them at birth so that humans can steal their milk. If the baby is female, she is forced into the same lifelong impregnation cycle as her mother. If he is a boy, he becomes veal.
Additionally, there are some terribly sadistic people who work in these facilities. I am sorry to be the bearer of this truth, but cannot renounce my responsibility to it. If you have ever said, “but I love milk and cheese,” please watch this video and at least know what you’re contributing to for the pleasure of your palate.
By bearing witness to this suffering, we can become their voices.
On to happier news – last week the United Nations announced its support of the vegan diet. This is a huge step for the vegan community! For a nice yet brief report on the issue check out The Discerning Brute (great blog!).
That’s it for this week’s wrap-up. Stay tuned for more updates, blog posts, tweets, and Facebook posts.

Father’s Day: Family Time and Food
Father’s Day is less than two weeks away and if you’re still searching for father’s day gift ideas, here’s a hint: he doesn’t need another tie, or another “Worlds Greatest Dad” T-shirt.
I’m guessing that what he’d really like is some quality time with his family and some great food. So how about this: you bring the family, and let us supply the goodies. Or, if you can’t actually bring the family, long distances or other obstacles getting in the way, at least send some of our delicious vegan desserts with a hand written gift card, so he knows you’re thinking of him (and his sweet tooth).
If sweets aren’t what he’s into, our premium quality coffee and tea make excellent father’s day gifts as well.
New: Mocha Wheat-Free Brownies
Another month is upon us, and with it another wheat-free brownie flavor! June’s Mocha Wheat-Free Brownies will include our very own fairly-traded Peruvian Femenino organic coffee nibs to enhance the richly aromatic chocolate goodness you’ve all come to expect of our award-winning brownies.
Perfect for Father’s Day or any day, these rich, chewy wheat-free brownies are made with organic oat flour and are 100% delicious!
Looking for more of that awesome mocha flavor, try brewing our Peruvian Femenino organic coffee with some of our organic drinking chocolate for sweet mocha heaven, hot or iced.
